Gogonasus is a lobe-finned fish from the Gogo Formation of Western Australia. Lobe-fins like this are close relatives of land-living vertebrates. This design is inspired by a 2026 paper that compared the brains (the shapes of which can be determined by looking at the internal cavities in fossil skulls) of a bunch of lobe-fins.
